These days Krakow is being tipped by more and more people as a trendy destination thanks to its mixture of cool bars, trendy boutiques and cultural offerings.

For the culture vulture inside of you, there are numerous museums and historical sites to visit, including a tour around their famous salt mines where it’s even encouraged to lick the walls for authenticity!

It’s also home to an amazing Jewish quarter too where we sampled plenty of the delicious traditional cuisine and educated ourselves about Poland’s important Jewish history. We even ceased the opportunity to visit Auschwitz to pay our respects.

A fine example as to why Krakow is now being dubbed a trendy destination is its quirky coffee shops such as Coffee Proficiency, which wouldn't look out of place in London’s trendy Hipster districts, right?

If you’re discovering Krakow for the first time, its Rynek Glowny (the Grand Square) is a must visit due to its spectacular old town appeal alone. Its beautiful backdrop is a selfie must stop and if you’re peckish, then be prepared to get spoilt for choice as the area is filled with delicious restaurants. Perfect for sampling traditional Polish cuisine no matter the budget.
